Eyes on the horizon!

This week was obviously all about Halloween at Nostell but our two guest bloggers have told you about that with such eloquence that I can look ahead to what’s in store for YTYT in my blog.
The half term ahead of us is possibly the most exciting of the year…Christmas shows are just around the corner with all the joy and festivity they bring with them.  I think the Christmas show week is possibly my happiest of the year!  This year looks set to meet our usual high expectations – such a variety of genres, atmospheres and performances in the set of stories we’re preparing for our audiences.
In addition Connections 2013/14 is all about to kick off!  We have our script – “The Wardrobe,”  our first choice this year for the first time in 2 years!  It’s brilliant and I’m so excited about directing it.  We have a brand new assistant director, a production manager and a stage crew ready and of course a company of actors who as we speak are preparing for their audition on the 16th of November.  This year’s connections is going to allow us to build a real ensemble and the people doing it for the first time have shown such commitment and potential in recent projects I think we’re going to be able to create something truly captivating.
Happily there are some new additions to the end of our Yew Tree year…this month thanks to Gemma and the writers we will be part of the Festival of Fire and Light taking place at Beam.  Also in November we’ll be performing at Wakefield 1 with a piece of theatre all about men’s hair – nope you didn’t read that wrong and we’re also part of Plays and Pints on the 30th of November – we did this last year and it was a great event.   We’ll be back at Nostell performing A Christmas Carol in December and bringing the house to life with some Dickensian characters...and to finish the year off we’ve got a games session to outdo all games sessions on the 21st of December and an Open Mic Night on the 22nd
It’s been YTYT’s busiest year this year and it’s not going to be any quieter as it draws to a close…so many memories to be made so learn lines while you can…looking forward to seeing you soon!
