Rachel who plays the central of Jub in "Lost Happy Endings," feeds back on Thursday nights performance experience...

Soooo the first performance of, "The Lost Happy Endings!!" Everything seemed to happen so quick...one minute we were in the middle of a rehearsal, next minute we are told that we’re up next!! So it was a little frightening that we ended up going on quicker than we expected, but being Yew Tree and being so very professional, we all got ourselves in the zone and went on to perform the best that we ever had done!! Playing Jub has been really exciting for me...mainly for the fun and drama of climbing on and up many members of the Black Company (who can say they’ve done that eh?). It has been one of those performances where you spend so much time being creative devising the actual physical theatre part of it that you don’t have as much time as usual to establish your own character. I think establishing my character really happened for me properly for the first time in this performance...with all the adrenaline, excitement and first night nerves, I really got into the character of Jub in the moment and was really happy with that!! Also, it has to be said that Alice was sensational as the witch to say she had to learn the lines and cover that part all on the actual day!! I was really impressed how she grasped that character sooo quick! Also, to say Mel had only rehearsed the performance twice, you would have thought she had been learning it for as long as us and Aaron learning Danny’s lines so quickly and being the substitute shoulder for me to sit on ( and Ash...thanks for that!) was pretty amazing too. So as we know there have been lots of adjustments and readjustments throughout this whole process but it goes to show what a unit we all are that everyone has just carried on professionally and made it work. The whole performance of lost happy endings is so fantastic and something to be really proud of because all of the Black Company have contributed somehow to creating all the amazing visuals that were happening on stage! I have realllly enjoyed this can’t wait for the performances in December.
