Danny Southern is no longer laptopless...this is good good news and means the following is once again possible

Hello my avid Yew Tree-ers! What happened on Monday in Sapphire group you cry? I don’t suppose that you’d be interested in crazy characters, struggling storms and a cripple named Danny? No? Well tough, cos you’re gonna get it anyway.

Our story begins in a high school far away where the sacred place of the Yew Tree-ers gather every Monday. But this night, oh this night, a storm was brewing. The assembled crew hustled close as fortunes past and future, good and bad were told to one another. Then, all fell silent. Heads turned to look at a young man sat upon a chair, his leg shielded from view by a brace. Eyes flickered between his injury and his face, but none interrupted his anecdotes of the week. He, whom we shall name Danny (mainly because that’s his name), propped himself up and informed the ensemble that his injury was sustained from foul play at a football game. I’m sorry right, but that’s a fail, 1st class with recorded delivery.

Anyway, enough of the age-old dramaticy tensiony bit, you came here to read a blog didn’t ya? Not some teenager whittling on and on and on and on and on. So, after best and worst, we played a couple of games (bearing in mind to steer clear of Danny) and went from the top of Princess and the Pea. One word. Well, two actually. Then again, it’s two words and an emphatic verbal filler that suggests one’s own personal feelings on a certain situation, but could also be seen as a pragmatic message in it’s own right: ‘just…ah…amazing’.

Everyone had improved over the festive hols. I don’t know why I put ‘festive’ tbh but I guess you can be festively Halloween-ified? It was just superb to see a lot of people off of script and that they’d put the extra effort to learn their lines. Yes, this is the bit where I refer to Laura ‘Staggsy’ Staggs. Anywho, everything was going swimmingly and dandy… till we got to the storm. I guess the festiveness of the holidays were just too much for us to remember such physically enduring stuff. But we soon got past that hurdle and continued running on through the script.

The following equation refers to a particular scene:
Princesses + Michael’s Reactions + Line Learning + A Doll’s Squashed Face = (Y)
Ah. The necessities to make a fun environment to learn. But in all seriousness, I’ve got to hand to those Princesses – they were phenomom… phenononomon… phenoninon… really good. I’m always impressed by Alanya, but this week, I thought she was ‘just…ah…amazing’. Learning her lines, developing her character – god, this girl is gooood. Ben and Kate (non-witchety) were fantastic and Milly, Tilly and Lily were once again splendiferous. Generally just brill all around guys.
Go Sapphire, it’s ya birthday!

But I shall leave thee with one final message… Wagner FTW. That is all.
